Safeco has an exciting opportunity for a customer focused and analytical-minded individual to join our Auto Casualty Claims team. As an inside Claims Examiner, you will handle claims requiring substantial investigation to determine coverage, liability, bodily injury and physical damage, negotiate resolution of claim based on facts and legal climate where claims occurred, document correspondence on claim and prepare agenda for resolving issues.

In this position you will be able to utilize and improve upon the following strengths:


  • Decision-making skills to investigate and maintain claims
  • Showcase your analytical skills to determine coverage and settle claims
  • Communication skills to secure information and educate the customer
  • Multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience handling auto claims and making liability decisions
  • Some litigation experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience with personal computers, knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, multiple priority, customer-focused environment is required.
  • No relocation assistance provided.
