SUMMARY:
The Business Insurance Management Information Systems organization is looking for experienced Business System Analysts that possess a strong team oriented work ethic and that are highly motivated. The role of this position is to work closely with Business Customers and Stakeholders across the Business Insurance organization, including our internal customers and MI IT partnering teams. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to join a highly energetic team with excellent growth potential.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates as an individual contributor and occasionally leads assigned applications systems analysis project staff to develop, implement and/or maintain a medium sized or multiple smaller assigned projects
- Manages own assignments to the operational plan for assigned business systems projects  
Plans at an operational level and manages the effective use of resources
- Facilitates and actively participates in the development of business user specifications into cost-effective applications systems specifications.
- Accountable for working to resource and staffing plans as established within our work priorities and established budget objectives
- Provides the management with timely and accurate information regarding their performance on assigned projects(s)
- Builds and leverages effective alliances across the technical and business community to ensure the best utilization of resources
- Suggests solutions that make sense and optimize the value of systems resources
- Breaks problems down to manageable pieces and implements effective, timely solutions
- Optimizes the use of all available resources.
- Able to provide management with substantive input. Influences peers and project staff through an inclusive style and the recognition and acceptance of their abilities and knowledge.
- Identifies project tasks that are most important and establishes a clear sense of priorities.  Anticipates and effectively responds to changes in workload and resources.
- Maintains effective partnerships across the department

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of four years experience in the IT industry
- Two or more years experience as a business analyst related to Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehousing
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of application systems analysis
- Strong relational database skills, specifically understanding SQL queries and core database structures (i.e. keys, dimensional models)
- Knowledge of  Data Warehousing Architectures, ETL Tools (i.e. Informatica, Datastage), ERD toolkits (Erwin), Business Intelligence tools (i.e. Business Objects, Cognos), and Data Storage (i.e. Teradata, Oracle)
- Demonstrates experience leading and facilitating requirements gathering and analysis meetings
- Experience performing detailed data analysis, including data profiling and system source analysis
- Results driven, oriented towards meeting and exceeding Business Partner expectations
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Creates an atmosphere where business partner''s issues are dealt with professionally, and in a timely manner
- Associates degree or equivalent experience required
