SUMMARY Reports to President, US General Aviation. Responsible for the development of strategies and decisions which provide for profitability, growth and retention of business within an assigned region consistent with overall business unit and company objectives. Incumbent is accountable for the strategic direction and profitable management of a book of business and the development of a strong, productive underwriting/sales force.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and direct the implementation of long and short-term business strategies to effectively achieve profit and growth objectives for assigned region.
Direct and participate in the development of strategic business planning activities that are designed to increase the presence of business unit products in the market; retain the appropriate mix of business; and active overall growth and profit objectives.
With President, US General Aviation, participate in the establishment of underwriting and marketing strategies and standards that reflect local market competitive conditions and, at the same time, meet our growth and profit goals.
Direct all marketing and underwriting activities to ensure that production, financial and underwriting objectives with respect to profitability are achieved.
Marketing and underwriting responsibilities include, but are not limited to: o Meeting with agency personnel to establish, maintain and develop positive and productive relationships. In this capacity, assures that our contractual commitments are met and that we are afforded ample opportunity for business growth. o Representing our company and our underwriting strategy in the location(s) to agents, employees and the community. o Direct local common management issues to support marketing and underwriting initiatives. o Work with other business units as appropriate to support market penetration and financial objectives.
Direct the development and maintenance of effective relationships with internal resources (e.g., LP&E, Claim, Operations, etc.) to coordinate the delivery of all related services to clients.
Perform all necessary staff management functions to support profit, growth, and expense management goals in the region.
