SUMMARY:
Effectively evaluate and manage high exposure Workers'' Compensation claims, including catastrophic loss, specified serious injury and other complex claims. Attempt to resolve through innovative and expert claim management.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Work as a team member with medical and legal resources to coordinate aggressive management of complex claims.
Work with Strategic Claim Unit on management of large loss, early strategic intervention and CAT claims.
Pursue all offset opportunities, including apportionment, contribution and subrogation.
Facilitate timely claim resolution by leveraging any mitigation opportunities, including vocational rehabilitation, non-cooperation, unrelated medical conditions, and potential fraud and abuse.
Act as technical resource to others.
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:
College degree preferred or 4 to 5 years workers compensation handling experience
OTHER:
Expert reserving skills, including actuarial submission
Strong investigation skills, including taking statements
Expert on jurisdictional, case law and regulation(s) knowledge
Strong presentation skills
Expert evaluation, negotiation and case resolution skills
