SUMMARY: This individual participates primarily in business analysis functions of: -Requirements Gathering -Requirements Analysis and Documentation This individual may also participate in business analysis functions of: -Requirements Communication -Requirements Implementation
PRIMARY DUTIES: -Enable subject matter experts to articulate the capabilities they need to meet their objectives by conducting interviews and gathering information -Build, validate, and update diagrams as required by the project -Document requirement descriptions -Scribe and/or lead facilitated meetings and prepare documentation -Prepare Requirements Specification documentation as required by the project -Provide expertise on the tools that the Delivery Methodology recommends for requirements modeling, review and documentation -Understand and use the components of the Delivery Methodology that focus on requirements gathering, analysis and documentation -Serve as lead for requirements on small to mid-size enhancement projects -Convert use cases to test conditions and test scripts to be used as basis for user acceptance testing -Manage requirements review sessions
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY: -Minimum of one year BA experience
WORK EXPERIENCE: -Knowledge of the requirements life cycle -Knowledge of requirements analysis techniques -Analytical skills -Excellent communication skills, both written and oral -BS or BA degree or equivalent experience -Certification or relevant experience with modeling tools
OTHER: Business Domain Knowledge -Solid knowledge of the insurance industry and workflow; developing knowledge of any one business area or product -Ability to quickly gather information Planning/Project Management -Solid time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines, efficiently and effectively Mentoring/Leadership -Ability to lead small to mid-size enhancement projects -Ability to provide guidance to less experienced BAs -Solid written and oral communication skills. -Ability to interview subject matter experts -Ability to present information Problem Solving/Analytical/Decision Making -Developing skills to recognize and analyze business need -Extremely detail-oriented -Ability to work independently or as part of a team. -Knows when to escalate issues -Takes responsibility for decision and actions Technology -Expertise in using Modeling tool, MS Office, Delivery Methodology and Requirements Specification template. -Business process modeling -Use case description and modeling -Functional decomposition -Context modeling -System architecture modeling -Conversion of use cases to test scripts -Posting and communication of requirements to others -Product modeling (applicable to Business BAs) -Data modeling (applicable to MI BAs)
