SUMMARY: Under general direction, responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial/accounting/expense analysis assignments; providing technical data analysis, reporting and support for expense and/or accounting projects; maintaining complete/accurate reports/outputs; ad hoc reporting to assigned area. Recommends opportunities to enhance process and operational standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES: Input, balance and control key items within the general ledger. Prepare accurate reports and analysis on a timely basis to support monthly/weekly/daily reporting needs. Support statutory reporting/accounting requirements. Provide technical financial analysis and reporting support to assigned division. Participate on project teams having broad impact on division (i.e., controllable income system). Recommend opportunities to enhance processes and operational standards. Act as liaison/interface with field and/or other departments to resolve problems. Develop allocations to company/product line. Perform reconciliations and ensure data integrity. Provide assistance to less experienced staff.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Knowledge or training in financial analysis and/or accounting. Demonstrated solid financial analysis and reporting skills. Skilled in spreadsheet and data base software and financial modeling tools. Sound analytical and technical skills. Understanding of insurance products and financial reporting requirements.
CERTIFICATES/DEGREES: Financial or accounting degree with some experience,
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Good written and oral communication.
