POSITION TITLE: Claims Examiner
LOCATION: Overland Park/KS or Armonk/NY

Summary of Position: The Claims Examiner will be responsible for processing, analyzing and supporting claims activities in the assigned area, including system support in conjunction with claim processes.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Provide process support and guidance to offshore processing team, including the development and revision of standard operating procedures.
• Communicate with customers, attorneys, health care professionals and other insurance companies via telephone and written correspondence to obtain specific claim information, and to explain claim handling.
• Maintain diary system with appropriate documentation in claim file.
• Authorize and pay claims subject to claim approval limits.
• Establish claim files in legacy system.
• Identifies potential catastrophe claims and refers to appropriate personnel.
• Remain abreast of company and industry changes as well as changes in internal processes and procedures.
• Provide claim system support and training, including system enhancement testing.
• Provide operational support as needed to various business.
The following background and skills are required:
• Minimum 1 year relevant claims analysis or financial analysis experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
• Strong analytical skills a must.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel.
