Technical Project Leader

Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain project plans, issue logs, charters, requirements documents, and other project documentation.

Establish and maintain processes and mechanisms to ensure successful completion of projects.

Schedule, coordinate, and lead project team meetings (including developing and distributing agendas, room scheduling, documenting and disseminating information from the meeting).

Manage sub-projects of a major initiative or multiple projects with moderate complexity/risk.

Identify critical milestones and dependencies and perform task and issue follow-up for project including contacting project team members for task and issue status, communicate potential conflicts and issues to management and updating appropriate issue logs and project plans.

Coordinate plans and activities of a sub-project with the primary project.

Develop and manage relationships with various technical and business units and third party vendors with complex, relatively unstable business and technical environments.

Establish and maintain processes and mechanisms to strengthen the relationships and improve outcomes.

Develop understanding of FDL business units, third party vendor organizations and ITG division, current technologies and trends.

Assist business units with the development of business cases and lead vendor evaluations where applicable.

Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.

Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.

Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.



Position Requirements:
1) Bachelor Degree and 3 years of IT project/program management experience OR Technical Certification and 4 years IT project/program management experience OR 7 years IT project/program management experience.

2) Supervisory/leadership experience leading teams with moderately complex projects or initiatives or moderately complex sub-projects of a larger initiative.

3) Experience translating moderately complex business concepts and requirements into technical requirements and specifications.

4) Knowledge of internal and external customers.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

5) Analytical and organizational skills.

6) Negotiation and facilitation skills.

7) Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

8) PC proficiency including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio.

Preferred Job Requirements:
1) Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
2) Life insurance industry experience.
