Everest National Insurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, LTD, is seeking an Underwriting Manager to underwrite specialty products written directly through Everest National Producers. A high level of technical underwriting, communication and analytic skill is necessary to develop and manage business to achieve long term underwriting profit and growth.
Successful candidates must:
Manage and underwrite an assigned book of business to achieve company goals for growth and profit. This includes adhering to underwriting guidelines and profitability objectives.
Review and approve referrals from position with lower levels of underwriting of authority.
Work with all functional areas of the company including loss control, claims, product management and operations to support company objectives.
Build relationship with producer force to increase the flow of profitable submissions.
Adhere to pricing and selection standards that supports strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goals.
Maintain awareness of competitor products, the overall insurance marketplace to be able deal with threats and exploit opportunities.
Qualifications:
Be self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives.
Possess a minimum of 7 years commercial underwriting experience with emphasis on multi-line insurance, with background in individual risk underwriting, and business development. Environmental underwriting experience is a plus.
Possess excellent communication, broker relations and business development skills to build positive relationships with our business partner.
Possess operational discipline to assure highest levels of product quality and customer service.
BS/BA degree preferred.
