Under general direction, supports product line and business operations by performing complex research and analysis and monitoring competition. Manages projects that are complex and require greater expertise, typically for the entire product line or multiple regions. Supervises a team of Product Analysts.
QUALIFICATIONS Information Job Summary Participates in the analysis and development of the company''s product offerings, pricing, and competitive position for specialty insurance lines, such as personal liability, motorcycle, and watercraft. Coordinates the implementation of new rating plans, underwriting rules, process improvements, and other initiatives to support profitable growth.
Job Responsibilities 1. Gathers data, conducts analysis, and develops recommendations impacting product features, pricing, underwriting, and distribution. Collaborates with other functional areas such as Sales, Service, Claims, Information Systems, Production, and Compliance to assess the potential effects of these changes and incorporate these considerations into recommendations.
2. Primary contact for regional management on underwriting rules, pricing structure, and performance reporting for assigned product lines.
3. Manages the introduction of coverage and rate changes for assigned product lines. Develops business requirements and discusses specifications with Information Systems team. Prepares revisions to underwriting and rating manuals for submission to state regulatory agencies, and drafts responses to questions from regulatory analysts.
4. Assists in special projects by performing analysis upon management request, focusing on the retrieval and evaluation of internal and external data in order to answer key business questions.
5. Performs other duties as needed.
Bachelor''s degree in Business, Management, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or Insurance preferred; or equivalent experience. Approximately 2 to 4 years related work experience required. Proficient in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, with the desire to learn additional database applications. Must have good organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Must be able to complete assigned projects independently with limited supervision. Basic knowledge of personal insurance principles, regulations, marketplace, and policy coverages preferred. Understanding of common insurance functions such as Sales, Claims, Underwriting, and Actuarial also preferred.
