Analyzes a company''s exposures & hazards, financial ratios, property/casualty insurance coverage, loss history, pricing targets, and desired program structure in order to recommend whether to proceed with an account and under what terms and conditions. Responsible for providing ongoing service to a group of assigned accounts. Trains, directs, and acts as a mentor for the unit''s underwriters and underwriting technicians. Individual account responsibility extends to premium of up to $6 million. Total volume of account responsibilities will be up to approximately $50 million.
Work with underwriting mgt, technicians, actuarial, service, operations and legal as new program and group opportunities are built. Individual account responsibility ranges from 3M to 50M, pending on grade level. Total volume of account responsibilities will vary.
QUALIFICATIONS Advanced knowledge of commercial property/casualty insurance coverages and underwriting practices; working knowledge of national accounts rating plans and coverages as well as alternative products; demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, hazards, coverage, losses, pricing terms, and competitive positions; effective mathematical, interpersonal, and organizational skills as normally obtained through either a master''s degree and years casualty underwriting experience or a bachelor''s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 4 years casualty underwriting experience, preferably with large account background. Demonstrates good communication skills, proven decision-making ability and business acumen.
