Description: Everest National Insurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd., is seeking a Director, Underwriting Resources to handle underwriting referrals, perform underwriting audits, provide market/business analysis, budget assistance, and training and development in support of Program Managers, Program Administrators, branch and corporate initiatives.
A high level of technical casualty underwriting knowledge and analytical skill is necessary to support and monitor program and direct business to achieve maximum underwriting profit. Plus the ideal candidate will have leadership skills along with a proven track record of providing training and developmental initiatives, both internally and externally, to maximize results.
Successful candidates must:
Be self-motivated and team oriented, with excellent leadership, coaching and influence skills. Possess 7-10 years commercial casualty underwriting expertise including primary, excess and umbrella coverages, experience in a Home Office setting with global responsibilities including conducting underwriting audits, being a resource for individual risk underwriting, problem solving, product development, and training & development. Perform effectively in a technical support position to assist our Program Managers and Administrators (General Agents) to implement underwriting strategy, provide underwriting training and guidance as required, and to handle underwriting referrals within assigned underwriting authority. Possess in-depth product knowledge in all commercial casualty lines of business. Aid in the development, implementation, monitoring and control of pricing and selection standards, which support strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goals. Perform underwriting audits of all programs and branch initiatives, as required, to monitor and ensure adherence to underwriting discipline, including pricing and selection standards, and strategic objectives. Provide training and development initiatives for internal and external customers to support Program Managers, Program Administrators, branch and corporate personnel, in achieving strategic and underwriting objectives. Effectively integrate Underwriting, Program Services, Program Operations, Actuarial, and Claims resources to provide Market/Business analysis and budget assistance to meet the needs of the Program Managers, Program Administrators and to support internal initiatives at the branch and corporate level.
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and the CPCU designation. Flexibility to travel.
