Location: Rancho Cordova/Sacramento, CA
SUMMARY: Positions available. CL and PL Teams.
Handle front line auto physical damage claims for insured and claimants and provide superior customer service to clients.
Analyze coverage, determine liability and damages, settle and close claims in a timely manner.
Handle claim files in accordance with Best Practices and company expectations.
Recognize and refer total losses, first party medical, and third party medical claims in a timely manner.
Complete formal training program for consideration of advancement to claim representative position. Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve claims on losses of lesser value and complexity. Differences in settlement authority would be based on local discretion and product line guidelines. Provide outstanding customer service.
PRIMARY DUTIES: Participate in on-going training sessions for specific line of business. Provide voice-to-voice contact within 24 hours of first report. Obtain facts from insurers, injured workers, claimants, agents, witnesses, attorneys and/or underwriters. Determine coverage/compensibility, facts of loss and degree of liability/exposure. Maintain contact throughout the life of the file, as needed. Work closely with Team Leader, Unit Manager or mentor to promptly resolve claim issues. Refer claims as appropriate, based on exposure and established guidelines. Maintain quality claim files in accordance with appropriate best practices, recognize and implement alternate means of resolution. Customer service-contact in order to give, receives, or exchanges information.
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY: College degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Solid keyboard and PC skills, with experience in Word and Excel.
OTHER: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with a diverse customer base.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively in a fast paced environment.
Type 35+ wpm minimum.
Bilingual skills in Spanish and English a plus.
College degree or extensive job experience preferred.
A general understanding of insurance. Solid interpersonal and customer service skills. Team focus, results oriented.
