Evaluates hazards, casualty coverage requests, historical losses and financial information to determine whether to quote an account, and if so, under what terms and condition. Directs preparation of larger, more complex renewals and new business prior to production. Begins the post-sale processing and on-going account management upon binding an account. Facilitates technical training classes for Sales, Underwriting, and Loss Prevention and provides technical guidance to other underwriters and technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced knowledge of commercial property/casualty insurance coverage, specifically General Liability, rating plans (including deductible plans), financial analysis, payment plans including cash flow options, and underwriting practices; demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial statements, hazards, coverage, losses, pricing terms, and competitive positions; effective mathematical, interpersonal, and organizational skills as normally obtained through a bachelor''s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 4 years casualty underwriting experience. Candidates ordinarily have demonstrated significant progress towards attaining an advanced degree or professional certification (CPCU, ARM). Demonstrates advanced communication skills needed for training and customer interaction.
