VP, Chief Actuary - Essential Functions:
Responsible for the operations of all actuarial and specified underwriting functions.
Member of Product Development Board, ensures the completion of pricing, design, and profit testing for all insurance and annuities products.
Responsible for annual certification of FDL’s reserves.
Responsible for profitability monitoring and measurement – reviews and works with senior staff as to analysis and implications.
Responsible for annuity valuation and pricing – as member of Asset Liability Meeting sets interest rates and reviews product performance.
Reviews asset and investment strategies with appropriate areas and monitors performance and implications.
Performs pricing and rate reviews of all large Group cases prior to issuing approval.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor Degree
* 10 years experience in actuarial operations and management
* Clear and concise interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* Executive management skills
Preferred Job Requirement:
* Member of the American Academy of Actuaries – FSA preferred
