The Claims Assistant (Claims Tech) position is responsible for providing office clerical support to claims adjusters and managers.

 

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and direct calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide extraordinary customer service.
• Perform data entry for system compliance.
• Provide filing and mail opening duties in branch locations.
• Gather information on newly reported claims and complete loss report and file set up, if applicable.
• Make vehicle appraisal assignments, if applicable.
• Provide dispatch functions to body shops and Material Damage Appraisers, if applicable.
• Perform dictation of transcripts, if applicable.
• May also:
• Complete mailroom processing.
• File.
• Perform copy work.
• Assist with the supply process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience & Skills              

• Minimum 1 year professional office/customer service experience
• Ability to type 40+ WPM
• Proven customer service skills
• Proficient PC skills
• Basic clerical experience
• Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
