The Claims Assistant (Claims Tech) position is responsible for providing office clerical support to claims adjusters and managers. Responsibilities - Answer phones and direct calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide extraordinary customer service.
- Perform data entry for system compliance.
- Provide filing and mail opening duties in branch locations.
- Gather information on newly reported claims and complete loss report and file set up, if applicable.
- Make vehicle appraisal assignments, if applicable.
- Provide dispatch functions to body shops and Material Damage Appraisers, if applicable.
- Perform dictation of transcripts, if applicable.
- May also:
- Complete mailroom processing.
- File.
- Perform copy work.
- Assist with the supply process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements Education - High school diploma or equivalent
Experience & Skills - Minimum 1 year professional office/customer service experience
- Ability to type 40+ WPM
- Proven customer service skills
- Proficient PC skills
- Basic clerical experience
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
