Responsible for assessing needs, designing and identifying programs to meet the talent development requirements of the organization, and evaluating the effectiveness of development initiatives. Works with department designees in the design and development of technical training programs which fully support business needs and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES - Applies knowledge of instructional design to the creation, design and implementation of training tools, materials and programs that are performance and outcome based. - Responsible for assessing performance development needs, analyzing subject matter, compiling information for the use in development of training. - Consults with workers, subject matter experts and others in the design and development of materials. - Applies skill in graphic design/illustration to increase effectiveness of materials. - Provides instruction and support regarding effective use of training materials and tools to end-users. - Works collaboratively to revise existing training manuals and develop new ones. - Develops, builds and maintains instructional materials to support the learning and business needs of the company. - Manages assigned instructional design projects to ensure timely and accurate input from SMEs internal clients, and other partners. - Perform evaluation of training effectiveness on multiple levels (learner satisfaction, learning outcomes, performance improvements) and utilize the finding to improve the programs. - Other activities as assigned
SKILLS/Special Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of instructional design techniques, methods and resources as acquired through 2+ years experience instructional designer, training facilitator or similar position(s). - Experience developing web based learning, self instruction and instructor based learning.
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills, superior problem- solving, conceptual and organizational skills, as acquired through a four-year degree in Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or related discipline. - Proficient in the use of graphics programs and other software required and used in the design of training. - Demonstrated ability to consult and influence others as acquired through experience. - Demonstrated ability to meet established objectives. - Able to provide thorough analysis and proper planning to achieve goals.
