Job Summary:
The primary objective of the Senior Commercial Business Consultant is to support assigned Commercial Certified and Top Commercial Producer agents within their territory. The Senior CBC will work with both exclusive agents (EAs) and Allstate appointed independent agencies (AIAs) to achieve company business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
BI Strategy Development and Execution, through direction of the Allstate Business Insurance Territory Sales Director, support the Commercial Certified and Top Commercial Producer community.
Player Coach/Mentor, primary responsibility is to be a commercial business consultant to assigned Commercial Certified agents. One of the additional accountabilities is to serve as a player coach/mentor to assigned Commercial Business Consultants.
Business Planning and Consulting, establish the Senior Commercial Business Consultant role as a value-added resource by successfully implementing the following six business strategies for each Commercial Certified Agent: Discovery, Analysis, Planning, Implementation, Measurement and Document.
Partner with local leadership, in addition to leadership of other business units, and education consultants to build and maintain effective relationships. Hold monthly 1:1 sessions. As requested, participate in local leadership meetings and strategy sessions. Also participate in market meetings, town halls/kick off meetings, etc. and help leadership understand, and use, the non-Commercial Certified commercial support structure.
Agency and Licensed Sales Producer Development, support existing Commercial Certified EA commercial needs, Onboard new Commercial Certified EAs to ensure a consistent quality development process, help Commercial Certified EAs extoll and take advantage of the ABI Beyond Insurance CVP, and assure agents use the Commercial Agent platform when appropriate.
Be an engaging and effective communicator as you serve as the primary field communicator between Allstate Business Insurance and local leadership through scheduled leadership meetings/calls, recurring monthly 1:1 meetings/calls and participation on team calls.
Conduct Training and Education through consultative interaction with Commercial Certified agents, the Senior Commercial Business Consultant coordinates training resources to solve training needs. Education resources may include Allstate Business Insurance Academy, individual or group training sessions via webinar, You-Tube micro training and On-Demand vertical models to educate Commercial Certified EAs.
Assist with recruiting efforts, where staffing needs are identified during Commercial Certified agent consultation, you will assist in sourcing, recruiting, hiring, onboarding and with developing new small business Licensed Sales Producers (utilizing Model Office tools).
Adhere to compliance and company Standards by addressing compliance concerns brought to their attention and ensure appropriate documentation is in place for future auditing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in sales or business consulting preferred
- 4-year college degree
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- P&C licensed in state of residence
- Industry certifications preferred
- Commercial insurance designations (CPCU, CIC, etc.) desired, but not required
Functional Skills
- Proven track record for obtaining business results through the development of effective internal relationships across multiple business functions.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial products and processes, for both EA and IA channels
- Agent experience preferred
- In-depth understanding of pricing, claims, local market planning, sales trend analysis and marketing data
- Ability to assess market conditions, trends and indicators
- Adept with desktop automation tools & business consulting tools
- Familiarity with Business Insurance industry, including competitors and trends and products is a plus
- Process development and implementation skills
- Recruiting skills
- Advanced business consulting and sales skills
