We have an immediate opening for an Account Manager (Commercial Lines) with the Global Energy Practice. The position may be located within the energy practice’s service hub in Boston, MA or in one of its offices in the following cities: New York, NY; Seattle, WA; Portland or Eugene, OR. The Account Manager will provide account team leadership while developing strong relationships with clients and a solid understanding of client risk exposures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists production teams in account management, renewal negotiations, special projects and resolution of claims and loss issues working closely with the Claims Practice Leader and other Beecher Carlson team members
• Assists clients in reporting claims to carriers and follows to advocate our client’s interests by facilitating timely claims resolution and assisting clients in responding to carrier coverage positions
• Provides oversight management of vendors through process mapping, program development, claims reviews, quality audits and other projects
• Handles and assists with multiple projects and tasks.
• Maintains knowledge and understanding of carrier and TPA claims services, programs, capabilities and trends
• Continuously updates knowledge of client’s business, goals and programs
• Proactively updates knowledge base on policy coverage, claims practices, case law and industry claims trends
• Is available to assist in other projects and tasks as required
• Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree, and/or 8-10 years of related insurance experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain the appropriate state brokers licenses.
• Excellent customer service skills, with ability to develop sound relationships with clients, underwriters, and other vendors.
• Knowledge and understanding of insurance legislation, rules, laws and other regulations
• Ability to use initiative and good judgment in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors/Must possess critical thinking skills.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships and to function in a team environment.
• Ability to lead client and/or market discussions.
• Good listening skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

 

Preferred:

• CPCU and/or ARM
• Knowledge of ImageRight and AMS 360.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking.
