UFG has an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their professional career in insurance. UFG is looking to fill one workers compensation claims trainee position. This is an entry level position that will provide the training and expertise to grow into a workers compensation claims representative.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a customer service associate to learn the claims assignment routine.
  • Receive new loss reports, enter claim into claims system and assign claim to the appropriate claims representative.
  • Follow up for any pertinent information not included on the initial loss report.
  • File BI indexes and PILRs when possible.
  • Process and handle low severity losses up to authority issued at the discretion of the supervisor to include limited investigation, composing of correspondence, processing of payments and creation of diary for follow up.
  • Review all mail received in imaging system and properly route to correct person whether it be new loss or new mail for an existing claim according to new mail procedures.
  • File and import e-mails, letters, and other correspondence received from outside sources.
  • Respond to agent status requests and handle routine inquiries from others including, but not limited to, claimants, insureds, and agents.
  • Assist in typing/transcribing memos, reports, and captioned outlines for the team.
  • Participate in relevant continuing education.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • A four year college degree, preferred.
  • Insurance experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks in a timely manner.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Must have strong decision making skills.
