SUMMARY Under the direction of the VP of Catastrophe Management, responsible for day to day catastrophe modeling needs of the E&S property team and the oversight and analytics of the property portfolio. CORE DUTIES • Assist in the management of the overall catastrophe modeling process and provide advice to underwriters and management as respects to exposure, growth and mitigation, including forecasting how change will impact the company’s portfolio. • Submit daily modeling requests to our India operations • Model rush modeling requests and large accounts in the Risk Link system • Discuss modeling results with underwriters and provide advice on when to use secondary modifiers and exposure adjustments. • Quality control modeling results from our India partner and monthly portfolio roll up results OTHER DUTIES • Provide weekly and monthly portfolio reports. • Assist with data gathering for analytics projects. • Assist with presentation preparation. • Provide catastrophe management backup . REQUIRED SKILLS • Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word • Must be able to break down a problem into core components to solve it. • Must keep good notes and be able to reference them when questions arise. • Good interpersonal skills. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is preferred. Catastrophe modeling experience is preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance contracts and general business periodicals. Must have the ability to read and follow procedure manuals. .Individual must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and underwriters. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
