Position Summary:

Working closely with and reporting directly to the President, Life & Health, the Chief of Staff is responsible for managing several projects, coordinating and executing the agenda and strategy. The Chief of Staff will organize and align strategic priorities with members of the senior leadership team, manage internal and external communications and messages, own or identify owners for special projects to ensure overall efficient operations. The Chief of Staff must have strong strategic business acumen, be proactive, have strong influential skills, and the ability to balance multiple projects.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prioritization of key projects and management of critical issues to ensure attention and focus of the executive team. Ease decision making by striving to provide full information at point of decision and by serving as a reliable, trusted and fair channel for all stakeholders. Ensures alignment and timelines support the overall business strategy.

• Aid integration by ensuring alignment of objectives, priorities and messaging for the Sr Executive and across leadership and ensure the processes designed work smoothly. May partner with internal communications to create and maintain messaging opportunities.

• Strategic oversight of all operations. Establishes a rhythm by creating a reliable, sustainable operating rhythm to the cadence of the Sr Executive, leadership team and support teams. Coordinates strategic meetings, documentation and deliverables. Sets pace for meeting key timelines, manages expectations and ensures all collateral ready for review.

Position Skills:

This role requires a strong Finance background with the ability to demonstrate strategic planning, diplomacy and proactive action. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment interfacing between Sr Executives, senior leadership and the organization working to ensure all preparations are made to promote productivity and efficiency.

• Highly credible, collaborative, and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player.

• Executive presence demonstrating comfort speaking internally or externally on behalf of the President.

Position Qualifications:

• College degree combined with corporate general management experience and increasing responsibility.

• Experience managing large or complex projects and comfort with ambiguity.

• Insurance industry knowledge

• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite

• Strong PowerPoint skills and expertise preparing materials
