Product Manager – National

We are currently seeking an experienced Product Manager to work on the National Product Management team of Kemper Personal and Commercial Lines in Jacksonville, Florida. This position focuses on Standard/Preferred Automobile and Homeowners insurance products and reports to the Director of National Product Management.

Position Summary

In this position you will have a countrywide influence, collaborating with other National Product team members to set the strategy for and shape the structure of Homeowner and/or Automobile insurance products countrywide. You will be accountable for enhancing business performance by assessing, developing, and effectively implementing pricing, coverage, underwriting and other product solutions that capitalize on identified profit and growth opportunities in these lines. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable defining, justifying and representing the business need to a broad cross-functional audience throughout the lifecycle of a given project or deliverable. You must be both strategic and detail-oriented.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•Develops pricing, coverage, underwriting and other product solutions that support profitable growth in the Automobile and Homeowners lines of business countrywide
•Develops, analyzes, reports and acts upon appropriate measures of Automobile and Homeowners lines of business performance countrywide
•Works effectively with Actuarial, Predictive Analytics, Diagnostics and Vendor teams to apply contemporary thinking and predictive modeling findings to product design
•Collaborates with business partners across the organization to justify changes to Kemper systems, business practices and/or product offerings with sound analysis and logic, forecasting expected growth and profit impacts
•Supports State Product Management business partners in analyzing how recommended countrywide product modifications are best integrated at the state level
•Supports development of contemporary contract language and underwriting guideline revisions as needs arise, driven by partnerships with Claims, Legal and Home Office Underwriting

Job Requirements

•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution, with specific course work in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, finance or insurance or equivalent work experience
•Three or more years experience managing insurance products or initiatives at the countrywide or multi-state level with demonstrated ability to achieve targeted results
•Experience with ratemaking methodologies, familiarity with catastrophe and predictive modeling techniques and strong understanding of general statistical concepts
•Extensive computer skills including proficiencies in spreadsheet and database systems
•Superior analytical and problem solving skills driving sound data-driven decision-making
•Superior soft skills driving clear, concise, organized and diplomatic discourse, inclusiveness and responsiveness
