Position Summary:

We are seeking a Material Damage Appraiser to cover both the Buffalo NY market and the western part of Rochester NY. Our Auto Damage Estimator/Auto Appraiser will work independently and remotely from your home! Our company provides a company car, laptop computer, and the required computer equipment for a home office set up.

Responsibilities include:

• Appraising damage to motor vehicles including the appraisals of heavy equipment and antique, classic and exotic automobiles.

• Damage estimates will be completed via a combination of both field work and desk (virtual) appraisals.

• Maintaining relationships with repair shops, suppliers and salvage facilities.

• Negotiating completed damage estimates and cost of repairs.

• Re-inspection of repaired vehicles.

• Staying current on new repair techniques and procedures.

• Completing required documentation and logs on claims system.

• Issuing payment on appropriate claims.

Position Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Material Damage Appraising experience, demonstrating the ability to appraise the most complex types of losses.

• Experience creating auto damage appraisals with an emphasis on auto body repair and refinishing is a must.

• Additional experience related to the repair of mechanical, frame, suspension and other related automotive components are required.

• Completion or eligibility of state licensing requirements.

• Knowledge of computer estimating software, preferably CCC One estimating platform.

• Experience with MS Word and Excel.

• Active participation in ASE and ICAR training, working towards or completion of Pro Level 3 status.

• Must possess a valid driver license.

• Candidates must live within assigned territory.

• Interpersonal skills must be adequate to effectively negotiate fair and equitable settlements of all amounts required to restore the damaged property to its pre-accident condition pursuant to all recognized industry and company standards.
