Position Summary:

As an Auto Damage Appraiser III, You will be working from the claims office to appraise damage to motor vehicles including the appraisals of heavy equipment and antique, classic and exotic automobiles via the computer. You will review subrogation demands from other insurance carriers, maintain relationships with repair shops, suppliers and salvage facilities. In this position you will also negotiate completed damage estimates and cost of repairs, stay current on new repair techniques and procedures, complete required documentation and logs on claims system, issue payment on appropriate claims, and will complete other duties as deemed appropriate by the management team. You will need to be able to report into one of the following Kemper Offices: Dallas, TX; Plymouth Meeting, PA; Charlotte NC; Salem, Oregon; or Syracuse, NY

Position Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of Material Damage Appraising experience, demonstrating the ability to appraise the most complex types of losses.

• Experience creating auto damage appraisals with an emphasis on auto body repair and refinishing is a must.

• Additional experience related to the repair of mechanical, frame, suspension and other related automotive components are required.

• Completion or eligibility of state licensing requirements.

• Knowledge of computer estimating software.

• Experience with MS Word and Excel.

• Active participation in ASE or ICAR training or the equivalent.

• Must possess a valid driver license.

• Candidates must live within one of the assigned territories.

• Interpersonal skills must be adequate to effectively negotiate fair and equitable settlements of all amounts required to restore the damaged property to its pre-accident condition pursuant to all recognized industry and company standards.
