Position Summary:

Kemper Services Group is seeking a Software Developer III for our Information Systems department located in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role you will provide technical consulting and support on Guidewire Policy, Billing and/or Claims applications. You will act as a technical resource in the many phases of the development and implementation process. You will conduct code and design reviews, develop and sign off on technical specs and design documents, functional designs and requirements, and participate in the estimation process. You will be assigned on-call production support responsibilities in addition to defect corrections (planned and unplanned).

Position Responsibilities:

• Application Production Support

• Infrastructure upgrade Support

• Defect corrections

• Small enhancements

• Compliance changes

• Medium to large Business Operations requests related to Claims

• Larger business transformation projects that will impact Claims

Position Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of Guidewire application coding as a configurator and/or integrator experience on PolicyCenter, BillingCenter and/or ClaimCenter is required.

• 7-10 years of Information Technology related experience is a must.

• Proficient in two or more technical disciplines (examples include WebSphere, Java, EJB, STRUTS, Web Services, Enterprise Service Bus, .Net, ColdFusion, etc.).

• Home and auto insurance industry experience is preferred.

• Strong problem solving skills for post implementation support is needed.

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with vendors, claims senior business partners, business support, and other IT employees in Claims and other technical support areas.

• Education or experience equivalent to a college degree in an information technology related field, supplemented by insurance or computer-related courses/knowledge.
