Job Summary
Under broad oversight, the VP of International Operations provides operations expertise focused on developing and executing the Travelers International strategy in a way that ensures alignment of Travelers operations practices globally, balanced with appropriate, informed and cost- effective localization. The incumbent is the senior Operations leader within International, responsible for working with Enterprise Operations leadership to develop the global operations strategy and the extension of that strategy into non-US geographies. The incumbent is responsible for working with leadership teams in all non-US locations to develop and execute country specific operations strategies designed to support the local business strategy. The incumbent is accountable for leading the planning, execution and implementation of strategic operations within Travelers International to support the business' agreed- upon growth and profitability targets. In order to ensure optimal global connectivity and alignment across geographies (cost, scale, efficiency, and effectiveness), the incumbent reports directly to the Senior Vice President and International Chief Operating Officer, and on a matrix basis to the Executive Vice President, Enterprise Operations. This job manages other managers.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Enterprise accountability for achieving the agreed Operations KPI targets within all countries in International Develop International Operations strategies, working with Travelers Enterprise Operations leadership, International leadership, and country leadership teams. Lead annual Operations business planning activities. Lead periodic operating reviews, strategic reviews and other business reviews as needed. Participate in the development of short and long-term strategies to effectively position the business to support country operations and create efficiencies Function as the point of contact between Enterprise Operations in the US and Operations in each country. Leverage and adapt the strategic vision and tactical disciplines from the Enterprise for execution in country as appropriate. Ensure that country specific needs and approaches are understood and supported by the larger Enterprise. Function from a holding company leadership perspective, providing strategic guidance and coaching to Operations leaders in each geographic operation, leveraging the unique strengths of the enterprise. Select, hold accountable and manage country Operations leaders. Provide thought leadership across countries as the Operations expert representative of the Enterprise and/or engage key experts as appropriate. Enable and facilitate execution, performance and delivery of Ops strategy in countries. Seek out Enterprise capability and best practices, and leverage Enterprise resources in cost-effective manner appropriate for the scale and maturity of each country/business. Determine the optimal global sourcing of services to support the business and maximize the customer experience. Provide leadership toward the achievement and attainment of consistent higher efficiency and quality results; assess and implement organizational improvements that will enhance success; coach and motivate leadership and operational teams to produce outstanding results and achievements. Work with country, International and Enterprise leadership to develop effective organizational designs that meet the business and customer needs around all operations functions. Ensure the development of organization structures that support business and customer needs. Participate in any due diligence, merger and acquisition analysis, business integration efforts to ensure operations are set up to be consistent with the International operating model. Support and further the performance of all management functions to attract, hire and develop talent in each country operation.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Experience running operations in a variety of industries that includes a mix of field operations, contact center, high transaction, digital delivery and other environments. Property & Casualty Insurance knowledge/experience. Comprehensive knowledge in operational capabilities including contact center, service center, billing/receivables, and audit.
