Job Summary
Under close to moderate supervision, this position is responsible for working in a team environment, processing environmental claims by inputting data, maintaining files and issuing claim payments within authority levels. May perform various unit/office support functions. This job does not lead others

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
(May include all or the majority but not limited to these components): Check Processing: Issue claim and expense payments and credit memoranda via the computer or manually, based upon authorization from file handler or manager with sufficient level of financial authority. File Maintenance: Prepare and maintain claim files. Set up new files, input changes and file updates at the request of Account Executive (e.g. change adjuster estimates, number of years claim payments are to be spread over, etc.). Print Bar Codes for file inventory. Input claim changes/ corrections (e.g. misspelled policyholder/ claimant name, incorrect causative agent code, etc.). Close or reopen claims in the system. Assures accuracy. Retrieve claim files as requested. Photocopy, file and maintain claim file paperwork. CD duplication. Use file management data base (OPUS) to maintain closed file/storage inventory; Scan closed files into the data base. Ship closed files to storage facilities. Assists with annual file inventory. General Administrative Support Word processing, Data entry, Copying Other duties as assigned.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
High School diploma or equivalent. Incumbent typically has 0-2 years of experience

Business Knowledge: Basic understanding of SLG organization. Demonstrates an understanding and consistent application of departmental practice and procedures. Technology: Uses, leverages, and maintains intermediate proficiency with corporate and job-related technology as it evolves (e.g. hardware, software, business unit applications and systems tools.) Focus on Claim systems, multi-function devices and document management environments. Intermediate data entry skills. Working Independently: Within job constraints, works independently, without direct supervision to conclude work assignments. Basic proficiency. Management of Workload: Balances a varied workload, consistently completes work assignments within established timeframes, properly prioritizes tasks and makes efficient use of time.
