This opportunity will be responsible for the following:

Manage all aspects of systems analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance for application systems for an assigned unit/area. Provide direction to project leaders and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. Anticipate and identify issues inhibiting the attainment of project goals, and develop and implement corrective actions. Monitor and report to IT and user/customer management on the status of multiple concurrent project efforts. Develop project resource strategies, allocating budget, staff, tools and specialized support necessary for cost-effective implementation and customer training. Act as general contractor on projects to develop appropriate support from various technology and service departments. Assess customer requirements, analyze the architecture of the business events and data that supports the architecture, evaluate possible solutions, and present recommendations to IT management. Ensure that application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices. Contribute to the development of annual application system plans, including project cost estimating.



Four year college degree in information systems, technology, or related area of computer science or equivalent work experience.


10 or more years experience managing, planning, designing and deploying data processing and systems projects.


Advanced leadership skills that can energize multi-disciplined work teams to respond to business needs. Strong technical understanding, with hands-on experience managing systems development/maintenance efforts in an IBM mainframe and/or client/server environments. Advanced verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. Advanced project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects form the envisioning stage through to implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors. Advanced teamwork and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment. Knowledge of the assigned business unit's/area's direction and practices. Knowledge and experience in developing strategic information systems plans. Good human resource management skills, including interviewing, mentoring and staff development, goal setting, and performance evaluation.
