Assurant Field Asset Services manages exposure to risk by implementing proactive measures at every stage of the asset lifecycle, from first notice of default through REO disposition. We have a position open in New Jersey for a Field Quality Specialist. This job is responsible for Ensuring vendor's contractual quality service commitments are met through evaluation of vendors/contractors contract compliance. The candidate will also be asked to provide jobsite evaluation, consultation, and education to vendor/subcontractor companies on light-residential construction contract compliance. Finally, the candidate will be reviewing, evaluating, and tracking subcontractor contract compliance. Key Responsibilities
  • Works independently and meets deadlines, quotas, and scheduling requirements
  • Educates subcontractors concerning contractual compliance, and interprets and applies contractual guidelines, metrics, and terms
  • Represents the Company on escalated issues. Works with code enforcement officials, brokers, agents and other third parties; resolves disputes through negotiation and independent decision making.
  • Uses independent judgment and discretion to allow exceptions or deviate from standard policies or practices to achieve a better end result for the Company.
  • Encourages and negotiates with vendors on best practices. Counsels and persuades vendors to improve existing business practices.
  • Makes day to day decisions to continue, expand, reduce, or eliminate contractual relationships with vendors.
  • Develops, coordinates, and presides over on-site contract compliance related vendor meetings, strategy sessions, and education seminars
  • Conducts investigations to determine subcontractor contract compliance; develops and provides contract compliance action plans and/or contract termination recommendations in instances of irreparable non-compliance
  • Investigates and evaluates subcontractor business practices
  • Reacts quickly to facilitate unannounced customer visits and customer quality examinations

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in homebuilding preferably in residential or multifamily construction.
  • A current state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel typically 4 days per week - extended travel time is occasionally required
  • Outside working conditions are prevalent. Must be able to tolerate temperatures (hot/cold), dust/dirt, noise, dry/damp, rain/snow, dark/bright, and seasonal allergies.
  • 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to type 25 wpm
