Monitor, manage and restore service delivery for networks (data and voice), servers, mainframes, UNIX systems, e-commerce, email, online applications and computer services to end users. Assist in the implementation of changes to the production environment and the resolution of computer related problems providing immediate recovery of services. Provide coordination for internal and external escalation of issues.


Experience in Level 2 service restoration in a heavily virtualized Windows 20xx servers and UNIX operating systems environment required. Knowledge of a multi-platform data center with emphasis on distributed systems preferred, MVS Z/OS operating system, JES2 subsystem knowledge a plus. Working experience of data center best practices in the areas of operational procedures, operational process, enterprise problem and change management. Ability to perform problem resolution procedures on integrated information platforms such as Windows 20xx servers, Unix and associated storage systems, including system software troubleshooting and computing system utilities. Has understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, NETBIOS and SNA. Based on provided procedures, is able to IPL, IML or boot multiple platforms. Candidate must be customer service oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective listening and team participation is a must. Business degree in computer science, computer operations, or data processing desired. 5-10 years' experience in integrated systems support and/or job recovery functions acceptable. Microsoft, ITIL or other applicable certifications desirable; track courses towards certifications are considered.
