SUMMARY: CAMICO is seeking a Sales Account Executive located in the San Mateo, CA office. CAMICO’s Account Executive for Direct Sales must be: Self-directed, goal-oriented and able to plan activities needed to obtain established production goals. Understand, implement and monitor progress of individual sales goals in assigned territory. Help coordinate sales efforts with Marketing/Communications and other PR-related activities to maximize benefits of sales activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Contact prospects, pre-qualify, communicate program features/benefits and successfully close the sale. This includes face-to-face contact for presentations to prospects. Develop and maintain accurate database of prospects in assigned territory, including account status and documentation of sales-related activities including initiating and follow-up contact. Demonstrate ability to close larger (10+ professionals) CPA firms in assigned territory.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of insurance, particularly professional liability claims-made insurance; be able to effectively communicate the CAMICO program to prospects, identify key benefits to the individual prospect. Have a clear understanding of the CPA profession, its inherent liability risks and evolving trends.
Be able to screen application for completeness and qualification of our programs. Prepare estimates or quotes to applicants based on their knowledge of the product/profession within established guidelines. Maintain a thorough understanding of CAMICO products and coverage forms, Loss Prevention programs, and claims handling philosophy. Provide feedback to management on customer input regarding the products and market intelligence (competition) as it relates to CAMICO and the products we provide.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in communicating to both potential clients and fellow CAMICO employees. Represent CAMICO with prospects, policyholders and as professional groups as required. This may include trade shows and other business related events. Nation-wide travel may be required.
Work closely with other functional areas, particularly Underwriting, Marketing and Accounting to ensure high levels of customer service. Demonstrate strong communication skills in presenting information to externally & internally. Display listening skills, ability to handle rejection, computer proficiency and commitment to excellent customer service.
Work in a team environment providing support, assistance & back-up to other department staff members as needed. Assist in any training to other department staff members if necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or at least five years of proven insurance sales experience is preferred. General knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, such as Word & Excel. SalesForce.com experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plain and solid Algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Requires that the individual maintain a property and casualty insurance license in California and in other states as needed.
