Position Overview:The Business Analyst position will contribute to the management of the AmTrust E&S team producing financial and operational reports on scheduled and on demand bases and will work closely with other operations groups in the company helping them understand our needs and driving projects through their departments. The exact set of responsibilities will be determined by the interests and capabilities of the successful candidate but will grow and AmTrust E&S continues to grow and diversify.

Responsibilities will include:+ Refine and deliver monthly and quarterly reporting packages to President, Heads of Lines, and Office managers.
  • Build and maintain a claims metrics database to be fed automatically from other sources.
  • Analyze business processes and provide solutions to optimize productivity, services and cost/benefit relationships.Understand the impact of changes on processes.
  • Manage changes in ISO forms and loss costs.
  • Work with IT on completing work on data warehouse reporting capabilities to report data and also to feed our internal reporting systems.
  • Manage relationship with IT and build a database to track progress on projects, defects, and user needs.
  • Develop content and exhibits for business planning and broker presentations, including broker report cards
  • Working internally with marketing groups to manage broker contracts, certificates of insurance, and performance.Aggregate data to identify marketplace changes and trends.

    Position Requirements

    Qualifications:+ 3+ years of business analyst or financial analyst experience at P&C insurance company.Experience in General Liability or Professional Liability is a plus.
  • Exposure to project management concepts and history of using these systems to track progress.
  • Experience as part of a team in developing, specifying, and/or testing new IT systems.
  • History of improving an analytical or business process.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or in a quantitative field desired.
  • AIS, ASLI, AU, and CPCU designations or completion of other insurance related classes is preferred but not required
  • Proficient use of Microsoft® Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Outlook with demonstrated high accuracy output. Knowledge of Access a plus.
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex numerical results to business leaders.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills are required
