Chubb is seeking a Commercial Lines Team Leader for theWhite Plains/Albany Branch Office
This Team Leader will supervise 3 Underwriters and assist the CommercialInsurance Department Manager with management responsibilities including financialinformation analysis and reporting, employee development and training, agentand producer relationship development, achieving renewal retention goals andassist in meeting financial goals for the $83 million dollar CommercialInsurance, Casualty & Marine book. Responsibilitiesinclude managing a sophisticated producer plant in White Plains andAlbany. In addition to theseresponsibilities, the Team Leader willpersonally handle a $4 million book of commercial middle-market business aswell as have personal production responsibilities for new business.
Other major duties and responsibilities of this position include:
*Managing profit and growth for the assigned territory and book of businesswithin the following lines of business/market segments: Property, GeneralLiability, Worker's Compensation, Automobile, Umbrella and Foreign programplacements.
*Soliciting, risk selection and analysis (including documentation), pricing andsales of products and services for renewal business.
*Successful market penetration and agency management including: acting as a keycontact to build, maintain and manage customer/producer relationships(including regular agency visits based on business need).
*Assist with agency planning and goal setting including monitoring of progress.
*Identifying cross sell opportunities.
*Meeting with prospective and renewal customers, to make sales presentationsand negotiate coverage's, price, financial terms and service delivery, asnecessary.
*Working in a team environment with Underwriters, UA's, Loss Control, Claims &Operations.
*Meeting service standards of a customer focused strategy.
*Collecting and sharing competitor data with team.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
*Solid proficiency of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theoriesand practices.
*Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge in multi-lineprograms.
*Proficient in the Multinational Underwriting and foreign programplacements.
*Proven and successful sales skills. (Meeting/exceeding new business productiongoals.)
*Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
*Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and externalbusiness partners.
*Knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-relatedsoftware.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
History of success in new business production
Underwriting experience with Middle Market industry segments such as RealEstate, Manufacturing, Distribution and Professional Services
Minimum 7 years of Underwriting experience
