Chubb's New York City branch is currently lookingan Underwriter to join its Property, Machinery and Marine Department.

Position Description:

The underwriter has responsibility to new and renewal business for his/her ownbook of business ($ 3M+ renewal book and a $ 1.0M New business goal). Theposition will be responsible for driving profitable growth with New York City,specifically in the Healthcare Segment. Lines of business property, inlandmarine and some auto. Underwriting duties will include developing andnegotiating price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business andrenewals while actively identifying account rounding opportunities for otherChubb Commercial Insurance practices. Collaborating with underwriters,operations, claims, marketing, and home office management is necessary. Mustimplement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies that will produceprofitability, book growth, and successful producer relations. We are lookingfor a candidate who is highly motivated, results oriented with solid businessand underwriting acumen. Pay band is flexible depending on experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesRequired:

Candidate will have experience in multi-line package or monolineproperty underwriting. Being able todemonstrate success in marketing, producer management, new business development,and the ability to successfully negotiate on all levels with both internal andexternal partners is a plus. Teamwork, communication, and negotiation skillsrequired. Candidate must have exemplary ability to effectively interact withall levels of customers and coworkers. Knowledge of technical issues,compliance, coverage, products and pricing strategies preferred. Candidate musthave the ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing businessenvironment. Must be a self-starter that takes appropriate initiative;Sound decision making skills required. Pay band is flexible depending onexperience.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 1-3 years of underwriting experience
