This underwriter will manage a renewal book of approximately $6M in written premium and produce new business premium of approximately $1,650,000. Lines of business include package, automobile, umbrella, international, and workers' compensation. Underwriting duties will include marketing and servicing accounts based on Chubb guidelines. Must implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies that will garner profitability, develop book growth and maintain successful producer relations.
The underwriter will have accountability for the financial performance of this book of business and achieving growth for the branch. They will identify opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources, identify cross-sell opportunities, conduct agency planning and goal setting including monitoring of progress, make regular broker & insured visits (based on business need) which may require overnight travel.
Candidate will have experience in multi-line package underwriting. Strong sales and marketing skills are critical; able to position accounts and close deals. Must be able to demonstrate success in marketing, producer management and new business development. Ability to successfully negotiate on all levels with both internal and external partners and nurture producer relations. Candidate must possess a high degree of proficiency with the underwriting process, risk analysis and partner effectively with an Underwriting Associate. Candidate must have exemplary ability to effectively interact with all levels of customers and coworkers. Knowledge and proficiency with technical issues, compliance, coverage, products and pricing strategies expected. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business related software required.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 - 5 years of underwriting experience
