The Manager is directlyaccountable for the P&C underwriting operation and results, includingdriving new business production and retention efforts for all lines of businesswhich are managed locally (this includes TIS, CIS, CAS, PMM, CMS, ERS, FPC).The Manager will work closely with NACI counterparts to provide insureds with totalcommercial solutions.
There are 194 appointed producers in the Cincinnati, Louisville & Columbusterritories. The leader will be accountable for the creation and execution ofstrategies for all customer groups, lines of business and market segments toachieve profit, growth and expense objectives. Key agency managementresponsibilities include:
Ø strategic planning and thought around long term(5-year) goals
Ø effective relationship building to achieve newbusiness, renewal retention, and rate goals
Ø lead generation
Ø key account management and visitation
Ø collaborate with the underwriting centers todeliver high quality, seamless service
Ø coordinate effective usage of Loss Control, Claims,OSD and other internal service providers

The manager is also responsible for a staff of 10 underwriters. This is made upof seven underwriting direct reports, three underwriters accountable to theCincinnati P&C manager for premium segments, but who reportelsewhere. Two underwriters also handled business outside of theterritory. As a result, it is critical to collaborate with other NACILeaders in the Chicago Region. In addition, this role partners with OSDto manage 6 underwriting associates.
Management of this staff includes:
Ø talent development and retention
Ø performance and compensation management
Ø technical and non-technical training, coaching anddevelopment
Ø develop sales and marketing expertise
This job reports directly to the North American Commercial Insurance Manager.
Qualified candidates ideally possess a minimum of 7-10 years commercial linesunderwriting experience, Considering the scope of this position and the need toimpact results across multiple departments, it is critical that candidates alsopossess:
Ø advanced underwriting, leadership and marketingskills to manage the internal and external components of this large book ofbusiness
Ø demonstrated acumen in strategic business planningand effective communication
Ø marketing and sales skills including negotiation,account rounding, customer service
Ø strong organizational skills are required
Ø proven track record of building and sustaininginternal, external, and remote relationships
Ø demonstrated technical, analytical and decisionmaking abilities
