The Systems Analyst plays a key role on the Connected Car Engineering Team. This role maintains ongoing awareness of enterprise capabilities and applications with a specialty in one or more areas within Connected Car. This Systems Analyst helps shape solutions in the early stages of demand management by understanding technical options which fulfill the business objective, possible future solution extensions and organization and system involvement. This knowledge is used to provide direction and guidance to project teams in the delivery of key initiatives and is expected to work collaboratively with other core team members. This role works directly with product owners to review significant proposed strategic work and helps drive out technical components of the solution resulting in the creation of a conceptual design. This Systems Analyst executes on established guidelines to educate and guide project level Systems Analysts through project design to ensure adherence to the solution vision.
Understands the technical details, integration, and functions of one or more applications, hardware and/or software, and maintains a detailed understanding of those areas within the Connected Car Engineering Team.
Documents and shares Best Practices.
Reviews proposed work within Connected Car and helps identify the relative components that lead to the creation of a comprehensive conceptual design with the elimination of redundancies.
Understands architectural and platform strategies and ensures that these requirements are met.Creates high-level solution design specifications and nonfunctional requirements for highly complex projects.
Helps establish key technical assumptions, constraints, risks and mitigations for the creation of large-scale, complex project estimates for projects requiring oversight or consulting from the Solution Design team.
• 4+ years of experience in enterprise application development designing and developing software applications in Java
• 4+ years of hands-on experience contributing to, understanding and documenting business and systems analysis artifacts such as process and system flow diagrams
• Experience acting as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams
• Integration experience with third party products
• Prior knowledge of multiple Allstate domains would be highly valued
• Experience in Telematics, SaaS and UBI space is a strong plus
• Ability to work independently and with teams in various disciplines
• High initiative in working through difficult problems and obstacles
• Ability to work in a very fast paced software organization, multitask and meet tight timelines
