General Summary:
Responsible for creating training materials and curricula for the onboarding and training of new associates. Also, responsible for upgrading commercial lines skills and knowledge for existing Business Insurance Associates.

Key Responsibilities :
• Create course content to be delivered via face to face, eLearning, webinar, small group study, etc. Evaluate materials currently in use. Modify training materials for use with our agency force.
• Work with State Auto University to build a formalized training program for current associates of BID.
• Interact with all Regions and the Business Insurance Division to assess training needs
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and other trainers
• Provide coaching and feedback to new hires as they progress through onboarding and new hire training. Relay feedback to managers regarding associate progress.
• Conduct ‘Train the Trainer' sessions to coach field staff on the delivery of regional specific training and company specific, instructor led, training. Qualifications

Minimum Experience / Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 7 plus years commercial lines underwriting experience. Must have expert knowledge of Business insurance risk appetite and the operating systems in place to support standard lines of business as well as knowledge of our Specialty lines products.
CPCU designation preferred.
Prior teaching and/or training experience preferred
Experience with adult learning theory, instructional design and creation of course content necessary. .

Communication and Collaboration Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills are required for this position.
Must be able to communicate effectively in both large and small group settings as well as through printed materials and web-based learning.
Strong collaboration skills are mandatory for this position.
Strong organization and time management skills are imperative.
Position will interact with all levels of management within the Business Insurance Division and within the Regions.

As this is a training position, must be able to determine which form of communication will best convey the training materials.
Must be comfortable providing coaching and feedback to others.

Problem Solving:
Must be able to assess and determine training needs by analyzing data and company results. Must be able to use creativity to customize a program as well as weigh results of the delivered training.

The ability to travel to Regions for extended periods of time is essential.
