General Summary:
The Market Specialist Associate reports to the Product Manager and is responsible for analytic and technical support for state product management. The Market Specialist Associate will provide analysis of competitor behaviors, marketplace dynamics and pricing segmentation. Must work collaboratively with the Product Management team as well with representatives from Product Development, Actuarial, Field Sales and Underwriting. This role is structured to allow the incumbents to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to perform Market Specialist functions and advance to Market Specialist I.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assemble information, provide analysis and make recommendations for competitive position, mix trends, production and loss results to support pricing recommendations for assigned states.
2. Work with the field sales team and other business partners to analyze needs and make recommendations to improve business for assigned states under the direction of the Product Manager or Market Specialist.
3. Recommend and implement improvements to pricing tools or analysis under direction of Product Manager or Market Specialist.
4. Produce monthly reports and make recommendations on improving business results.
5. Participate in Training programs, meetings and sales travel to advance pricing, insurance and marketplace knowledge. Qualifications

Minimum Experience / Education:
Successful candidates must possess strong analytical skills, be self-directed with strong organization and time management skills necessary to manage conflicting priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Solid experience in Excel, Access and Word are required. Experience with SAS or other advanced data extraction tools is a plus. The individual has an interpersonal drive to learn the principles of insurance and develop their business skills to advance to a Market Specialist role.

Insurance related Bachelor's degree with problem solving/analytic courses or internships or 1 or more years of insurance or analytics experience is required.
