As a Claims Support Representative, you will provide overall clerical support to the entire claims department by being knowledgeable on departmental procedures that pertain to the various clerical functions. Desirable candidates will be able to effectively:

  • Identify and distribute all incoming mail for the claims department, excluding the workers' compensation unit. Mail should be completed on the same day that it is delivered. Mail is to be opened, stamped with the appropriate date, identified and then delivered to the proper adjuster. Any unidentifiable mail needs to be brought to the supervisor's attention.

  • Identify, copy, and log all incoming checks, and then deliver the originals to the accounting department on a daily basis. Copies of the checks should be distributed to the appropriate adjuster.

  • Match and attach any letter or correspondence to a requested check submitted by an adjuster. Check attachments should be done promptly to ensure checks make the last mail call.

  • Copy claim files as requested by the adjuster. Ensure these are completed by the given due date.

  • Correctly enter both Paradox and Great American checks into the proper system using either a daily report or by data-entering the check requests, as applicable.

  • Type recorded statements using the proper format exactly how the statements are heard, word for word as to what the speaker is saying. Each transcription should be completed within the department turn-around time. Any rush requests require a Supervisor's authorization.

  • Log and file all closed files that come from the adjusters.

  • Locate all files for audits promptly and in the time frame set by the supervisor. Ensure all the proper documentation is printed to go along with each requested file.

  • Ensure new losses get delivered to the assigned adjuster during regularly scheduled intervals, with the first run starting at the very beginning of the day and the last run occurring at the end of the day.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
