As a level I Customer Service Representative in the Personal Lines sector, you will primarily be responsible for handling and responding to incoming calls from our customers and insureds in a timely and accurate manner. You will also be expected to record any information that will need to be entered or updated in our systems and route it to the appropriate team members for completion. Please note that the hours held for this position are 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Desirable candidates will be able to effectively:

    • Engage callers with courtesy and a positive attitude while handling their inquiries

    • Act as the main point of contact for our customers and demonstrate expertise regarding National Interstate and its lines of business

    • Return missed calls within set timeliness standards and route specialty calls to the appropriate personnel when necessary

    • Process endorsement, cancellation, renewals, and other requests in a timely and accurate manner

    • Research and resolve billing issues

    • Apply renewal and installment payments

    • Perform other necessary support duties as assigned

  • Skills and background that we are looking for:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    • 1-2 years' minimum office or insurance experience

    • Ability to provide exemplary customer service and employ professional phone etiquette

    • Solid organizational and multitasking skills

    • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one with customers and/or management

    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication talent

    • General working knowledge of PCs, including databases and word processing

    • Ability to think critically and problem solve independently
