We have a position open in our Indianapolis, IN office or Tampa, FL office for an QC Appraisal Advocate. As a functional Subject Matter Expert (SME), the QC Appraisal Advocate assist QC front line Associates to resolve complex issues within a service center to a defined pre-underwriting process for mortgage related appraisal products with the objective to verify their compliance to USPAP, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Client Specific Reporting guidelines. The QC Appraisal Advocate will adhere to industry regulated Appraiser Independence Protocols while communicating directly with Appraisers and Client Escalated Contacts to coordinate appropriate report stipulations and revision requests in order to meet completion deadlines for the expedient delivery of a compliant product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a functional SME resource on industry changes, appraisal product knowledge, appraisal principles and practices for clients and internal associates.
  • Act as an immediate resource to assist associates with appraisal related questions.
  • Provide high level, expert support for clients and appraisers as related to Quality Control, appraisal report inquiries and general industry guidelines.
  • Accept inbound calls when a StreetLinks panel Appraiser requests a conversation with a licensed appraiser.
  • Review escalated appraisals to verify compliance to USPAP, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Client Specific guidelines.
  • Assist Client Advocates regarding escalated appraisal concerns.
  • Communicate with Quality Control Department Managers when made aware of client concerns and/or issues.
  • Attending client conference calls as functional SME
  • Assist in evaluating complex fee requests from Appraisers
  • Assist in evaluating the competency of Panel Appraisers assigned complex orders.
  • Identify and communicate with management, geographic trends noted in the industry.
  • Track and report questions on escalated appraisals to provide feedback on training needs.
  • Assist with production needs when appropriate
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current Licensed Appraiser
  • 2 years' of experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, data-entry, and internet
  • Candidate must be National USPAP certified
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 year Associate Degree preferred
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively; listens and gets clarification
  • Ability to work independently and need little supervision
  • Communicates effectively both orally and written
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to interact with peers and managers with tact and diplomacy
  • Intermediate computer skills including multi-screen capability
  • Team spirited, but able to work individually as well.
  • Regular timely attendance is an essential job function
  • Candidate must have completed a minimum of 2 years of field experience as a Licensed Appraiser
  • Work hours can include M-F 8am-9pm, Regular schedule will be provided by manager. Occasional required Saturday based on business needs
