Assurant Field Services manages exposure to risk by implementing proactive measures at every stage of the asset lifecycle, from first notice of default through REO disposition.

We have a position open in Austin, Texas for a Default Services Specialist. This job is responsible for the day-to-day interaction with Clients, Listing Agents, and Vendors. The Default Service Specialist will also be Initiating and following up on all initial services to preserve the value of the client property and assisting in assigning work to vendors nationally and following up until completion. Also, this person will be interacting with Listing Agents, Clients, and Vendors for initial & recurring service completion. Finally, A portfolio of properties and managing multiple clients, vendors and agents as needed and working closely with teammates & other AFS departments to ensure exceptional customer service

Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizes AFS' order and tracking system to update job progress on the following:
    • Initial services
    • Recurring services
    • Documents notes in the system
  • Handle client needs and manage day-to-day client interfacing to include
    • Direct communication with the client via phone and email
    • Preparing review history
    • Interaction cross-departmentally
    • Knowledge of departments duties and what they can do to help
  • Understand clients' processes be able to take action accordingly
    • Full understanding of client SLAs and expectations
  • Escalate any advanced issue to Senior DSS and/or Supervisor as needed
  • Some reporting duties as directed
    • Initial bids as necessary
    • Review reports for
    • Identify and report process gaps
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma
  • 2 years of general work experience
  • 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to type 25 wpm

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1 year previous mortgage, banking, property management, leasing, and customer service experience preferred
  • 1 year previous experience with HUD, FHA and GSE preferred
