General Summary

• Works under limited direction.
• Manages, mentors, and develops the employee resources for an IT unit
• Supports customer groups and areas using the products and services developed or supported by this unit.
• Interacts with PMO and the IT business office to help develop and apply State Auto project management best practices.
• They assess the stability and lifecycle of all applications within the area to assure we maintain the core services required and protect the ongoing viability of the function required.
• Provides regular updates and progress reviews with management and customers for this IT area.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plans, organizes, assesses, and directs the work of supervisor(s) and direct reports for the unit.
2. Manages resource planning for their team, as well as develops and reviews an annual operational budget for unit(s).
3. Utilizes advanced management, leadership skills, and systems/operational knowledge to analyze, promote, and ensure Promotes and ensures compliance with division/department standards
4. Collaborates with internal customers, the PMO, other IT teams to provide systems advice, clarify requests, manage delivery expectations, and transform specifications into accurate, efficient running solutions in alignments with customer and company priority.
5. Acquires, trains, mentors, develops, grows, and manages team members, following Human Resource policies and procedures. Qualifications

Minimum Experience / Education:
• A college degree (at least a 4 year college degree) with at least eight years progressive experience as a supervisor or in a leadership role, or at least ten years of relevant experience demonstrating progressively increasing levels of leadership responsibility.
• Experience with large scale test automation frameworks.
• Experience with UI automation using Selenium, or any other framework.
• Test Automation experience using Java.
• Agile / Scrum experience.
• Experience with Jenkins and the concept of continuous integration.
• Experience in Silk Performer.
• Experience using Zephr/QC tools and how they interface with Jira tools.
• Continued education and/or certifications for technology and management currency is expected for this position.

• Ability to develop, read and analyze, and interpret documents such as complex requirements, technical procedures, or government regulations.

Technical Knowledge:
• Position requires advanced leadership skills enabling the manager to lead and mentor team resources.
• Possesses an in-depth level understanding of system components, software development lifecycle processes, company and unit operational expectations and accountabilities
• Demonstrates an ability to analyze and solve problems, develops implementation plans, and aligns other operations and technical resources to meet the expectations for the operational area, IT division, and company.
• Possesses and exhibits excellent change management and leadership skills.
• Position requires knowledge of operational standards and procedures, regulatory and technical standards, and an advanced knowledge of industry and technical trends.
• Must analyze, document, and maintain compliance to all operational, company, and regulatory requirements related to the unit or area.

Problem Solving:
• Provides excellent / advanced level analysis, planning, and team leadership skills to support the team, operations, and applications within their team
• Identifies and implements operational and strategic changes needed to achieve optimal outcomes that meet or exceed customer, IT, and company expectations.
• Monitors an array of systems and team resources to assure the unit maintains a stable/efficient operational environment.
• Conducts assessments for the area to identify and correct inefficient practices, system functions, design structures, applications, and components.
• Develops and implements process improvement recommendations based on previous experiences and systems information.
• Possesses excellent planning and problem analysis skills enabling them to provide IT solutions and recommendations that may span multiple IT units or areas.
