General Summary

The reporting of various statistics to NCCI and independent state bureaus. Reporting time line requirements vary by task. They can be weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual.

Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for monthly Workers Comp Unit statistical reporting to NCCI and independent state bureaus. This involves running the units through pre-editing programs to identify errors prior to submission, submitting the units via the web after pre-editing is complete and then correcting any additional Unit errors identified by NCCI or independent states after submission. Also involves updating claim information annually to NCCI and independent states on all Work Claims open up to 10 years.

2. Responsible for weekly Workers Comp policy reporting to NCCI and independent states. Does not require pre-editing as of yet, but does include fixing policy errors after submission on those policies identified by NCCI or the state as being in error. This process includes, at times, working with Underwriting Department personnel in fixing the errors on the policies.

3. Responsible for verification and payment of Workers Comp burearu assessments.


Minimum Experience / Education: A 4-year college degree, including coursework in accounting, finance, insurance, or computer science is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Communication and Collaboration Skills: Must be able to write business correspondence, system change requests, and procedures. Must be able to explain relatively complex material in an easily understandable manner. Must have the ability to listen and get clarification. Must be able to build good working relationships with internal and external customers.

Technical Knowledge: Experience in workers compensation statistical reporting would be beneficial. Experience in workers compensation underwriting, rating, auditing, and/or claims would be beneficial. Experience in information technology would also be beneficial.

Problem Solving: Must have the ability to interpret technical instructions, comprehend complex situations, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to apply logical thinking and sound judgment to arrive at solutions to problems.
