General Summary:
This position is responsible for contracting and appointing State Auto's agents and agency force with the various state insurance departments and ensuring proper compliance. This role assists and supports all Sales projects, tasks and programs focused on internal and external sales.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Appoints new agencies with the applicable state insurance departments; includes assigning underwriting authority and available underwriting markets and preparing and issuing new agency agreement contracts and agreements.
2. Appoints individual agents/producers with the applicable state insurance departments; includes reviewing and processing non-resident appointment requests, assigning sub-producer codes, completing state and federal background screenings, activating and terminating licenses as appropriate.
3. Ensures agencies/agents are in compliance with State Auto corporate guidelines.
4. Maintains and updates all demographic data pertaining to agencies/agents.
5. Manages and administers various production, incentive and quality-based programs to support Corporate Sales initiatives.

Minimum Experience / Education:
College degree preferred. 3 years experience working in an administrative office role. Previous experience working with agencies, home office, or regional office personnel a plus. 3 years experience in the Sales Operation Facilitator role.

Communication and Collaboration Skills:
● Written: Excellent communication and writing skills are needed in contacting and working with agents, associates insurance regulators, and other people inside and outside of State Auto.
● Oral: Ability to have professional and effective conversations, in person and on the telephone

Technical Knowledge:
This position requires a basic understanding of accounting concepts and entry-level math skills.

Problem Solving:
Working with limited direct supervision, must be able to function effectively on multiple tasks and meet demanding project deadlines.
