Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the primary contact for general insurance questions and policy changes
  • Handles marketing of accounts to include:
  • Prepare renewal specification summaries
  • Processes renewal data received from client
  • Obtains preliminary renewal indications from Underwriters
  • Determine applicable markets
  • Prepares Acord applications from EPIC
  • Follow-up with underwriters for quotes
  • Compare quotes for coverage, limits & pricing
  • Negotiate terms, conditions & pricing of accounts with assistance of AE or Producer, if needed
  • Prepare proposals
  • Participate in proposal presentations or other meetings as required
  • Issue binding instructions & notify companies with unsuccessful quotes
  • Issue binders, invoices and claim kit instructions
  • Complete surplus lines due diligence & affidavits when applicable
  • Documents client’s file
  • Performs general insurance tasks as necessary, which may include invoicing, certificates, auto ID cards, endorsements, and policy summaries
  • Checks Policy:
  • Per policy check list
  • Reviews & compares coverage forms
  • Responsible for integrity of policy data on Agency Management System
  • Keeps supervisor/manager informed in all matters that may affect the performance of assigned tasks and/or overall operations of the department
  • Attends and participates in department meetings as well as other meetings as directed
  • Participates in training to enhance knowledge and skills and remains current with industry changes
  • Informs supervisor and/or manager of all matters that may affect the performance of assigned tasks and/or overall operations of the department
  • Performs other duties as requested
  • May occasionally require overtime at the discretion of management
  • Functional in navigating EPIC system
  • Provides excellent customer service & teamwork

Required Experience & Background

  • Requires three years progressively responsible experience in dealing directly with commercial insurance coverages
  • Requires the possession and maintenance of a Multi-lines license for the state of Colorado
  • Requires current Colorado drivers license
  • Basic knowledge in accounting principles including invoicing and cost allocation
  • General insurance knowledge
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge in insurance coverages, terminology and concepts
  • General knowledge of rating and marketing techniques
  • Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to satisfy the needs of the customer, both internal and external
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels of CB and customer and vendor companies
  • Ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to use general office equipment, including a computer, calculator, typewriter, fax machine, copier and telephone
  • Ability to learn and perform new duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to work overtime as requested by management
