DescriptionPerforms activities necessary to support the bi-weekly payroll processing for domestic group of 5000+ employees. Duties include checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, validating new hire data for accuracy, and other payroll compliance audits. Processes all employee final payments, income withholding orders, and employment verifications. Provides high level of customer service and resolves inquiries; determines root cause of the problem; explains best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution. Primary Responsibilities: - Supports and contributes to the processing of bi-weekly payroll for over 5,000 employees. - Communicates with the Human Resources Department to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers and rate changes. - Coordinate processing of employee income withholding orders and employment verifications with service provider. Ensures notifications are processed timely. - Calculate and process off-cycle checks for termination payments while ensuring compliance with state laws. - Provide customer service to payroll customers: in the area of pay checks, how to enter time, where to locate forms and information in Workday, where to send completed forms, who to contact for benefit questions and how to obtain IRS instructions on withholding issues. - Process any payroll related adjustment for retro payment, benefit corrections, etc. - Process direct deposit returns and stop payment on checks. - Prepare monthly metrics data as specified; time not entered and time not approved, off-cycle checks, etc. - Performs a variety of routine office duties such as, filing payroll-related documents in the appropriate personnel or payroll folders, distributing incoming mail, and coding items within the payroll inbox. - Assist with special projects as assigned by the payroll manager.

Position Requirements- Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or related field. - 2 years of current experience processing payroll. - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. - Possesses strong communication (oral/written) and customer service skills. - Ability to plan and carry out assignments from management staff with minimal direction. - Strong professional ethics to maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal information of applicants, employees, former employees, and other matters affecting employee relations. - Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate files and records. - Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines.
